When it comes to cholesterol, there are many confusing terms being thrown around. Dietary cholesterol is one of those terms. You may believe that every dietary cholesterol is bad, but actually, dietary cholesterol does not raise blood cholesterol as high as you might believe. The two bad guys here are trans fatty acids and saturated fats.

So what you want to do when you think of cholesterol problems is to reduce your levels of bad cholesterol. A very good way to do this is by changing your diets. In addition to reducing foods with bad cholesterol such as meat, dairy, eggs and seafood, you should also eat different foods that could reduce LDL levels.

Trans fatty acids are found in a lot of packaged food. Microwave popcorn, hard stick margarine and a number of French fries from some fast food chains are all culprits. You can cut down your assimilation of trans fatty acids that will all contribute to the level of bad cholesterol in your system, by refusing to buy these foods or trying to find better substitutes.

You may raise the quantity of good cholesterol in your system while reducing the bad cholesterol. This is because the existing of good cholesterol in your body signifies that excess cholesterol will be taken back to the liver to be excreted out of your system. This indicates you want plenty of good cholesterol because high levels of good cholesterol can reduce risk of heart disease.

Everyday life changes such as eating foods that have soluble fiber and monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats will assist to augment good cholesterol levels. You can also increase the time you spent on physical activity in your daily life to decrease cholesterol levels. Another great solution is to limit alcohol intake to one glass per day for women and two a day for men.
