How Does Chiropractic Work?

What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health care profession that focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system, and the effects of these disorders on personal health.
Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal issues, including but not limited to back aches, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches.
Doctors of Chiropractic often called chiropractors or chiropractic physicians practice a drug-free, hands-on method to health care that includes patient examination. Chiropractors have broad diagnostic skills and are also educated to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative regimens, and also to provide nutritional and lifestyle counseling.

The most usual therapeutic procedure done by Chiropractors is called chiropractic adjustment. The purpose of the adjustment is to restore joint mobility by manually forcing joints that have become hypomobile in their movement as a result of some kind of injury. Tissue injury can be the result of a one traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repeated stresses, such as sitting in an difficult position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues experience physical changes that may result in pain and diminished function for the patient. Manipulation of the impacted joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, allowing the body to heal.
Chiropractic Manipulation hardly causes discomfort. However, patients may sometimes feel mild aching following treatment (as with some forms of exercise) that usually resolves within a day or two.
In many issues, such as lower back pain, chiropractic care may be the main method of treatment. If other medical conditions exist, chiropractic care may support medical care by reducing the musculoskeletal factors
